She is a founding member of the Southwest Cecchetti Council of America 1955, founding board member Senior Follies, and is currently on the board of Ms Texas Senior America since 2005.Ī dance instructor for over 30 years, Angela has been fully certified to teach Cecchetti Ballet and Pointe, Gilbert Jazz, Tap, PowerPilates, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Drill Team, Charm and Gymnastics. A member of Rotary, Wanda enjoys teaching and has dedicated her life to sharing the inspiring power of dance with her students. She was nominated by the National Tap Dance Committee for Outstanding Teacher in Tap. She has held 16 National Pageant Titles in her senior years, starting in 1990’s. Senior Texas America Pageant, winning first place and talent. She has completed has competed in the Ms. Wanda has studied extensively with new artists and teachers in New York and Chicago, including artist Gertrude Joy, Enid Ricardeauz, Luigi, Tremaine, Arthur Miller, Gus Giordini, Danny Hoctor, Roland Dupree, and Al Gilbert. ![]() Ms Wanda opened up her 1st studio in Dallas in her teens with her sister, called Norwanda’s Studio. She holds a degree from Southern Methodist University and has taught Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Drill Team, Irish Step Dance, and Gymnastics for over 55 years, and ballroom for over 25 years. She is fully accredited by examination in TATD, USGF, Cecchetti, Gilbert, and Retter Methods. She has also choreographed many shows for service leagues, conventions, and dance concerts. Dancers attend from the surrounding areas of Irving, Mesquite, Carrolton, Farmers Branch, Allen, Frisco, Rowlett, Murphy, Sachse, and McKinney.Ī professional for many years, Wanda has performed in theatres, motion pictures, television, and concerts. Serving the nearby areas of Dallas, Richardson, Addison, Plano, Garland. All dance, costuming, movements, and music are age appropriate for all. Children who are learning new dance skills are simultaneously developing and enhancing disciplinary strength and self-esteem. Our students achieve success in many different activities outside of the studio due to their dance experience and training through Arabesque. The only studio in Dallas presenting Dancers for their Cecchetti ballet exams since 1970‘s. Students are exposed to many different dance forms including classical, ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, hip hop, drill team, swing, ballroom, lyrical, contemporary, and charm. The Arabesque Studio has been in Dallas since 1969 and is dedicated to teaching students throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. Our classes work on large gross motor skills such as hopping, skipping, galloping, and jumping. Our classes focus on fun movement to many types of music, rhythm (Clap, stomp, twist, swing, and dancing to the beat), memorization (learning and recalling dance steps in order), group Interactions such as taking turns, and coordination. Dance Classes at the J offer boys & girls the basic skills of hip-hop, tap, ballet, and tumbling. ![]()
